NEW DELHI: The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of International Cricket Council ‘David Richardson’ has announced in the press conference today on March 9th, 2016 that Pak-India match venue has changed from Dharamsala to Kolkata (Eden Gardens).
ICC and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) understand the issues well and the venue changed at the request of Pakistan and some other reasons. The decision to change the venue of the match was taken to make the match peaceful, said by ICC Chief Executive.
It is clear that this matter came in front at the time when the Chief Minister of the State ‘Himachal Pradesh’ refused to provide security to the Pakistani team and on his statement Pakistan expressed security concerns and decided not to send Pakistani team to India and to review the security issues first sent security delegation to India.
ICC is not at all disappointed at this decision because such situation has come earlier to it. During the World Cup 2003, some matches were transferred from Kenya and Zimbabwe due to security issues, answered by David Richardson on a question.
Pakistani team had to leave for India on March 9th, 2016 where it will play its first match on March 16th, in Kolkata.
In the long run, finally, ICC has taken the decision of changing venue that Now Pak-India world T20 match will be in Kolkata (Calcutta).
