Olympiad is the competitive exam given by the students of classes 1 to 12th. These exams focus mainly upon the exploration of hidden and extremely good talents of students in different fields of education such as Mathematics, Cyber/Computer Technology, English and General Knowledge. It is a great opportunity for students to showcase their extraordinary skills. These exams are conducted by various organisations which are mostly non-profitable conducted in various schools. The list of olympiad exams which is conducted in various organisations are listed below:

SOF Olympiad:

Science Olympiad Foundation is an organisation which deals with educational related development. SOF is a non-profit organisation established by scientists, famous academicians and personalities for bringing the competitive attitude in children at a very young age. It gives great opportunities for students to stand outside the pool of science and technology and showcase their uniqueness across the globe. This organisation is partnered with various prestigious organisations like- The British Council, Techfest IIT Bombay, IIT Kharagpur, TCS, Star Sports, National University of Singapore etc. which makes this organisation more standard.

SOF International General Knowledge Olympiad

Unified Council:

This council exam focuses on mainly in the in-depth understanding of the concepts which is received in schools. Unified Council helps the student to build up the competition attitude at a very young age such that they are ready for the competitive world. This council also enhances the approach of learning. Students from India, Tanzania, UAE, KSA, Yemen, Oman, Iran, Qatar, Kuwait, Indonesia and Nepal are allowed to take up this exam. Unified Council exam is designed in such a manner that it is not just required for recollecting the concepts, instead, applying it in a different way. ‘Making the younger generation stronger with firm fundamentals and nourishing their minds for a bright and enterprising future.’  -is the main aim of a unified council.

Silverzone Foundation:

It is a non-government organisation which aims to light up the educational awareness in India and overseas countries. This organisation competitive exam gives the platform to the students to show their creativity in a particular area to the world by giving them merit and awarded certificates, medals, trophies and prizes. This is a non-government organisation focusing on identifying outstanding students with respect to various fields of education. This organisation is promoted by corporate heads, educationists and media doyens. What makes this organisation unique is that it is the only organisation in India which is the official partner of Google, which is a gateway to google’s science fair in India. It is also partnered with the Bombay Stock Exchange Institute. EduHeal uses 3 levels of examination to identify students’ intelligence. Each round will filter most intelligent students. Certain students who have met the eligibility criteria will also get a chance to visit ISRO and Bombay Stock Exchange to discuss with great personalities. 33% of top rankers will receive medals and level 2 students will win exciting prizes like- laptop, tablet, scholarship and more. Level 3 i.e final level students will win fabulous prizes which are given by sponsors. Certificates will have the logo of BSE plus ISRO which make it more valuable.

There are opinions saying at a very young age, pushing the students to be competitive in this world is too much to handle by them. It may be true. However, these olympiads help the student to bring up a strong foundation, which they can build up their future. Parents and teachers should identify their extraordinary interest in a particular field and encourage them to be master in it in an enjoyable way rather than forcing them to swallow beyond their capability.
